Ray and Marie Lutes had a vision for Shelbyville Community Church—a place where faith and community could thrive. Ray, with his dedication and skills, oversaw the construction of our church building, laying a strong foundation both literally and figuratively. Marie, a true pioneer, faced numerous obstacles as a woman pastor. Despite the challenges, she persevered with unwavering faith.

Marie preached the Word of God even when she wasn’t allowed on the stage or behind the pulpit. Her commitment to serving the Lord never wavered. She kept her faith and continued her ministry, breaking barriers and inspiring many. Both Ray and Marie faced obstacles along the way, but through it all, the Lord was faithful. They have spent their lives serving the Lord and pastoring Shelbyville Community Church for decades, building a legacy they can be proud of.

Today, Shelbyville Community Church stands as a testament to their vision, perseverance, and the unwavering faithfulness of God. We honor their legacy by continuing to serve our community with the same passion and dedication they exemplified.

From humble beginnings in the living room of Ray and Marie's house, to the carriage house, and now to our vibrant church community, we have witnessed God's unwavering guidance and abundant blessings. His hand has led us through every step of our journey, building a family of faith rooted in love, unity, and purpose.

We are grateful for the past and excited for the future as we continue to grow and serve together.
